- Creating the standard (Recurring) Journal Transaction
- Recalling the standard general journal entry
- Viewing / Editing / Deleting standard journal entries
creating the standard (recurring) journal transaction
- To access General Journals, click on the Finance dropdown and select General Journals:
- Select the journal you want to work in. We recommend setting up standard journal entries in the DEFAULT Journal, as standard journal entries are not specific to a General Journal:
For example, if I set up a Standard Journal in the Default Journal, I will still be able to recall this Standard Journal in the future from my own custom journal as needed
- Create the entry you want to save as a Standard Journal Entry:
- Once a balanced transaction has been created, click on the Action dropdown (you may have to first click on More Options in order to see the Actions dropdown)
- Next click on the Functions dropdown and select Save as Standard Journal:
- You will be prompted to give your standard journal a Code (limited number of characters) and Description
NOTE: If you want the standard journal to retain the dollar amounts, make sure to select Save Amount. If you do not choose to Save Amount, when you recall your journal entry, the amounts will be blank. All other information will be filled in.
- A message will pop up when the Standard General Journal has been successfully created:
- Process the entry or delete the lines if you don’t need to process it right now
