Understanding and Using Timelines

  What is a Timeline?

A timeline is a modern panel found on many akoyaGO forms, such as Constituents, Contacts, Requests, Donors & Prospects, Gifts, and several others. Timelines consolidate activities (emails, calls, tasks, appointments), notes, and posts into a single chronological stream, representing the history of the particular record. Timelines are especially helpful as they promote transparency across the foundation; users can easily see outstanding and past activities related to the record, providing a comprehensive history.

Below is an example of a timeline on a Constituent record:

Filtering and Adding Activities from a Timeline

Users can view, filter, and create activities directly from the timeline, allowing for engagement without navigating away from a record. For more information on creating/filtering activities and the different activity types, please see MS Learn - Use timeline

  Timeline Hierarchy

Timeline activities from child records (such as Requests under a Constituent) will roll up to the parent record's timeline.

For example, if Mary Smith is the Primary Contact on Mr. and Mrs. Smith's Donor record, timeline activities added to the Donor record will also appear on her Contact record:
