This article provides detailed steps for creating, editing, and managing reports in akoyaGO using the Report Wizard, including adding charts, sharing, and troubleshooting.

Create a New Report

Go to Reports (Under Tools).

To add a new report, select +New.

Click on Report Wizard

In the Report: New Report dialog box, in the Report Type list, select Report Wizard Report, and then select Report Wizard. Note: You can only use the Report Wizard to edit reports that were created with the wizard.

Select the starting point for your report:

  • To create a new report, select Start a new report
  • To start from a copy or edit an existing report, select Start from an existing report, and check the Overwrite existing report check box.

Select Next.

Enter the name of the report, and specify which record types the report will use.

This step identifies where the report data comes from. You can include data from one or two record types, or data from related records.

Enter data in the fields:

  • Report name. This value will be displayed in the reports area.
  • Report Description.
  • Primary record type. Data from all fields in this record type and related record types will be available when you are defining criteria for which records to include.
  • Related record type. If you need to display data from a related record type, select an additional record type here.

Select Next.

Define a filter to determine which records are included in your report.

  • In this step, you can choose an existing View to use as your "Default Filter" from the Primary Record Type and Related Record Types defined previously. For example, you could utilize the "Active Payments and Requirements" view for the Payments and Requirements record. Or, you may choose to manually build filters in the filter builder.

Select Next.

Determine the Columns to display on the report and how to sort them.

  • To "Sort" Records within the report, you "Click here to add a grouping".  This will pop open a window to allow you to pick the Record Type, Column, and sort order you'd like to group records on (Ex: Record Type = Requests, Column = Request #, Sort order = Ascending)
  • To add Columns to your View, you "Click here to add a Column".

Organize and Layout Report Data

Select the basic format of the report:

  • Table only. This provides a table grouped and sorted as you specified.
  • Chart and table. Displays both a chart and table.

Select Next.

Add Charts and Formatting

If the report includes a chart, specify the chart type and how the data is displayed.

  • Select the chart type, and then select Next.

The Chart preview area shows how the data will be displayed.

  • For vertical and horizontal bar charts and line charts, specify which data to display on each axis:
    •  In the Format Column (X) Axis section, select the field to use for the X axis, and the label that is displayed on the chart for the field.
    • In the Format Value (Y) Axis section, you can select two fields. For each field, you can specify the label that is displayed on the chart.
    • In the Format Labels and Legends section, specify whether or not to show the data labels and a legend.
  • For pie charts, specify the slices and values for the chart:
    • For slices, you must select one of the groupings in your report.
    • For values, you must select a numeric column with a summary type.
  • Select Next.

Finish, Test, and Refine

After you finish defining the report, return to the Report form, and if required, update the name and description of the report, and determine where the report is displayed.

  • Review the report summary, select Next, then select Finish.
  • Test the report. On the Reports tab, in the Actions group, select Run Report.
  • If the report needs changes, edit it.
  • Make the report available to others.

Share, Download, and Manage Reports

Share a report with other users or teams:

  • From the left navigation pane, select the reports area.
  • In the list of reports, select the report you want to share.
  • On the command bar, select Share.
  • On the Share Report dialog box, select Add User/Team.
  • In the Look Up Rows dialog box, find the users or team row that you want to share the report with, and select the check box next to the row.
  • Choose Select to add the user or team row to the Selected rows box and then select Add.
  • In the Share Report dialog box, select the type of share access that you want. The available permissions are: Read, Write, Delete, Append, Assign, or Share.

Share a report with your organization (for admins):

  • On the command bar, select Edit.
  • On the Actions menu, select Make Report Available to Organization.

Download a report:

  • On the Actions menu, select Download Report.
  • The RDL file will download, which contains the FetchXML the report is based on.

Edit Default Filters

When a report is a SQL Server Reporting Services report, is enabled for prefiltering, and has a default filter, you can change the default filter to display the data you expect to see in the report.

From the left navigation pane, select the reports area.

Choose a report and on the command bar, select Edit Default Filter.

Modify the filter criteria as needed.

Troubleshooting

Insufficient security permissions: If a User is unable to run a report or observe data in the report, it may be because that User does not have access to that Column or Table in akoyaGO. Verify their Security Roles and Permissions.

Data not entered or does not match criteria: The person entering data may have left columns empty.

You may be viewing a cached copy of the report. By default, data in Dataverse reports is pulled from the database each time you run a report. However, your system administrator may have changed a report to run from the cache. If data you entered recently is not included in the report, you may have an older version of the report from the cache. To refresh the report, select the Refresh button on the Report toolbar.

Your Microsoft Internet Explorer privacy settings may block required cookies. For chart reports, if you see a red letter X instead of the chart, your privacy settings may be blocking a cookie required for the chart control. To fix this problem, in your browser, enable cookies for the server that is running Reporting Services."
