Power MailChimp Integration for akoyaGO (Dynamics 365)
Power MailChimp integrates with akoyaGO’s Dynamics 365 so you can work directly within akoyaGO and akoyaGO Inc. Support can assist with establishing the API connector and installing Power MailChimp as a New Work Case. Purchasing Power MailChimp licensing and ongoing support is handled by HCLTech (PowerObjects). akoyaGO does not provide MailChimp product or licensing support; akoyaGO support covers error messages when using the Marketing Lists table and issues within your akoyaGO CRM platform.
Functionality of Power MailChimp within Dynamics 365
- Use static or dynamic CRM marketing lists to send bulk emails to Constituents and Contacts (newsletters, special offers, and more) directly from Dynamics 365.
- Schedule send dates and times for each bulk email drop.
- Track vital email statistics—sends, successful deliveries, opens, clicks, bounces, and unsubscribes—back in Dynamics 365.
- Edit and customize each campaign without leaving Dynamics 365.
Access: Click the application navigator next to the akoyaGO logo and choose the PowerMailChimp app.
Uninstall: Create a support case in GOsupport to have PowerMailChimp uninstalled as a New Work Case.
Important: akoyaGO Inc. can provide General Support with errors experienced within akoyaGO Products relating to out-of-the-box functionality, such as Marketing Lists. However, questions regarding licensing, billing, and product support for the Power MailChimp App are handled by HCLTech. akoyaGO can only assist with MailChimp when establishing the initial API connector as New Work, or to uninstall the connector as New Work.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: If we create a marketing list in akoyaGO, does it automatically push to MailChimp?
A: After you create a marketing list in akoyaGO, there is an option to sync to MailChimp. This needs to happen in order to create a PowerMailChimp blast.
Q: How or where do we add new contacts?
A: Our best practice is to add new contacts only in akoyaGO (not directly in MailChimp). When those contacts are added to a marketing list synced with MailChimp, their records will be created automatically in MailChimp.
Q: If a contact is added to MailChimp, how do we get that added to the Marketing List?
A: If it’s a dynamic marketing list, the integration will routinely sync the list to MailChimp to update the contacts in MailChimp. CRM Marketing Lists map to MailChimp Audiences. Our best practice is to create and maintain contacts in akoyaGO for clean, accurate data; when a contact is used in a synced marketing list, it will be reflected in MailChimp.
Q: If a contact “Unsubscribes” from our MailChimp newsletter, will that be saved in CRM?
A: Unsubscribes are shown in the CRM contact’s activity. However, this does not automatically change the contact’s Bulk Email field to “Do Not Allow.” To ensure clean data, we recommend manually updating that field. Even if you do not update the Bulk Email field, your next email will not be sent to the unsubscribed contact, and they will show as unsubscribed in MailChimp. Best practice: When building a marketing list, include criteria for only contacts who allow bulk email, so you don’t include previously unsubscribed contacts.
Q: How can I use akoyaGO data to personalize MailChimp emails (for example, donor or gift-specific data)?
A: MailChimp integrates only with the Contact record, so donor or gift-specific details (such as giving history or totals) cannot be dynamically pulled into a MailChimp email template from akoyaGO. To our knowledge, MailChimp personalization references only the contact’s name and email address. If your goal is to include dynamic values from related records (e.g., the Donors and Prospects Table) in akoyaGO email templates, you can build this as a Workflow. Although this does not allow using MailChimp's native design/layout tools, it does allow sending emails with the related information. If you would like akoyaGO to assist with this build, this would be new work.
If you’d like to explore MailChimp’s capabilities and limitations further, we recommend reviewing their documentation and working with their Support team for product-specific questions.
