August 2026 Product Update Webinar Recap
The August 2026 Product Update Webinar walked through enhancements and bug fixes deploying August 21, 2026 across akoyaGO, akoyaGO with Accounting, Business Central, GOapply, GOfund, and GOdonate. The session included live demonstrations, implementation guidance, client questions, and a look at the remaining 2026 releases.
Before you begin Clear your browser cache after deployment so new functionality appears correctly. Full release notes were published ahead of the webinar; condensed notes and Knowledge Articles are available, and documentation is being updated for every affected feature — including brand-new documentation for the email capabilities in this release. |
akoyaGO CRM
Bulk update for Special Request Status
You could always set Special Request Status in bulk, but never clear it efficiently. You can now remove the status value across many records at once, which simplifies cleanup after requests are processed.
Document management safeguards
Some organizations were configuring Dynamics document management in ways that conflict with akoyaGO's architecture. A new detection mechanism identifies those configurations and surfaces a banner message.
If you see the warning, contact Support so settings can be corrected before they affect Letter Templates and document generation.
Letter Templates as email
The headline enhancement of the release: Letter Templates can now be sent as email communications. In one flow you can generate a letter and email it directly, choosing how it arrives and who sends it.
- Send the letter as the body of the email, or as a Word or PDF attachment.
- Select recipients from email-enabled lookup fields.
- Choose the sending user.
- Use an Email Template, or write custom email body content.
- Preview custom HTML email content before sending.
Option 1 — In the body Letter content appears directly in the email body. Subgrids render successfully; templates with many columns may hit formatting constraints. | Option 2 — As an attachment Send a Word or PDF attachment alongside either a predefined Email Template or a custom-written message. |
What attendees asked
- Emails are tracked to the timelines of both the originating record and the recipients.
- Drafts are not supported — emails send immediately. The Product Team suggested this as a future product suggestion.
- A selected Email Template can't be edited just before sending, though custom body content is available when sending attachments.
- One recipient lookup per send operation today; multi-recipient support was noted as a potential enhancement.
- Letter Templates reach related records and additional merge fields, which makes them the better fit for award letters and other complex communications.
Bulk Email
A separate capability for mass communication, replacing workflows built solely to send email. Select multiple records from supported tables, choose recipients from lookup fields, pick a sender, apply an Email Template, and send personalized email — no workflow required.
Reach for Bulk Email when a standard Email Template is enough. Reach for Letter Templates when you need advanced formatting or related-record data. |
GOapply
Scholarship Auto Match terminology
The field formerly labeled Opt-In Enabled is now Auto Match Enabled. A new system view, Auto Match Enabled Scholarships, lists active scholarships configured for automatching along with key details such as available funding and renewal information.
Scheduled publishing for Review Groups
Review groups can be built in advance, reviewers assigned ahead of time, and publication scheduled for a future date and time. Existing review groups are unchanged; newly created groups use the updated publishing model.
akoyaGO with Accounting
Easier error recovery in Send to Accounting
Corrected payment records sitting in error status can now be resent in bulk. Administrators no longer work through each payment one at a time after resolving the underlying issue.
Available-to-spend validation
Bulk payment sends are now validated against fund balances. A payment that would push a fund past its available-to-spend balance receives an Error status, must be reviewed individually, and requires an intentional acknowledgement before it proceeds — closing a path where warnings could previously be bypassed in bulk.
Default gift fees by fund
Fund administrators can assign a default gift fee on the fund itself and have it apply automatically to future gift transactions, reducing reliance on custom workflows. Capacity also increases from two fee slots to four per transaction.
If you run custom fee workflows today, the Product Team encourages migrating to the standard functionality when practical — future enhancements will build on the standard platform capability.
Fund anniversary and age fields
Two calculated fields — Fund Age and Anniversary Date — are derived from the Established Date and update dynamically based on the current viewing date. Use them for reporting, segmentation, and anniversary recognition.
Business Central
Chart of Accounts
The Chart of Accounts page now defaults to active (unblocked) accounts only. Viewing all accounts is still available when needed; the default is simply less cluttered.
Net Asset Sweep configuration
Net Asset Sweep behavior was previously tied to the Endowed checkbox. It now has its own dedicated setting, giving you more flexibility in how endowed funds and earnings movement are managed.
Existing funds are populated automatically during deployment. New funds require explicit configuration.
GOfund
Improved checkout
A single errored grant recommendation no longer blocks an entire cart. Valid recommendations submit, errored items stay behind for correction, and donors don't have to remove problematic items to keep moving.
Change Request visibility
Change Request records now show current value alongside proposed value, so reviewers can see at a glance exactly what is being changed, added, or removed.
Scheduled distributions
The Fund Summary page now uses a dedicated GoFund Scheduled Distributions view instead of the generic system view. That means inactive records are removed, display options are more donor-friendly, a recipient organization/fund column is included, and space is used better inside the portal.
GOFund Connections by Fund report
A new report for auditing donor portal access: view access by fund, review user permissions, and see effective dates in one place.
Client discussion
Attendee questions covered deliverability for bulk email, multi-recipient email capability, gift fee migration, custom workflow compatibility, upcoming release schedules, and fund anniversary reporting.
Feedback in the chat was strongly positive, with particular enthusiasm for the email enhancements, the GOapply updates, and the direction of the user experience.
